Katie Mae Carnell, 93, was promoted to her eternal reward, Oct. 30, 2011. She was surrounded by those she loved so well, her children. She is preceded in death by her lifetime mate, Arvel Carnell; sons, Arvel E. and Gerry Carnell and grandson, Phillip Shane.
She is survived by four sons, Kenneth Wayne and wife, Shirley, of Sikeston, Mo., William Edward and wife, Carolyn, of Kennett, Phillip Earl and wife, Erma, of Kennett and Anthony Dee and wife, Marcia, of Kennett; three daughters, Elizabeth Jane Smith/Galbraith, of Kennett, Nancy Carol Parker and husband, Wincle, of Kennett and Sharon Kay Montgomery and husband, Joel, of Kennett; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of sons and daughters that she has won into the Kingdom of God.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at the Abiding Peace Church in Kennett. Please join the family as we celebrate her home going with visitation today, Tuesday, Nov. 1, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Home going services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m., with Rev. James Carnell officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
