Lanny Earl Wilson, son of the late John Charles Wilson and LulaMae Shepard Wilson, was born July 20, 1945, in Kennett, and departed this life Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at the age of 66 years 2 months and 27 days.

Lanny married Patricia Louise Pickens in April 1969.

Lanny served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War in 1966-1967, and was a member of Ely Baptist Church, served as a deacon and drove the church van.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Wilson, of Kennett; three daughters, Shelley McGee and husband, Jim, of Kennett, Shana Cross and husband, Loy, of Senath, Mo., and Mica Mendoza and husband, Jesus, of Senath; six grandchildren, Jeremy Wilson, Logan Cross, Ximena Mendoza, Wilson McGee, Jesus Mendoza and Makayla Cross; four brothers, Charles Wilson and wife, Bonnie, of Ballwin, Mo., Jerry Wilson and his wife, Velita, of Kennett, Ron Wilson and his wife, Karen, of Kennett, and Jackie Wilson and s wife, Janet, of Overland, Mo., and other relatives and many friends.

Lanny was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Ray Wilson.

Visitation was from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 22, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 23, at McDaniel Chapel with Rev. Bud Evans and Josh Gray officiating.

Burial follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers are Jerry Wilson, Ron Wilson, Jack Wilson, Charles Wilson, Jeremy Wilson, Jason Wilson, Todd Wilson and Greg Wilson.
