Born April 17, 1946, in Kennett, son of the late Willie Lonzo Norton and Ancie Marie Cheshire Norton, he was an engineer on a towboat, and a volunteer with the Clarkton Fire Department.
On Oct. 17, 1968, in St. Louis, he married Doris Darlene Fobar.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Norton, of Clarkton; two sons, Tracy Fields and wife, Valerie, of St. Louis, and William Norton and wife, Kelcie, of Clarkton; one daughter, Dina Norton, of Clarkton; two granddaughters, Lee Anna Fields, of St. Louis, and Tiffany Laster, of Gosnell, Ark.; two great-grandchildren, Riley Norton, of Gosnell, and Colton Norton, of Clarkton; two brothers, Benny Norton, of Wappapello, Mo., and Pete Norton, of Clarkton, and three sisters, Jean Hendrix, of Clarkton, Mary Bridgeman, of Piggott, Ark., and Exie Dickens, of Wappapello.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Jim Norton.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 22, at Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Allen officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
