Dorothy Anderson Myers, of West Point, Miss., passed away Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at West Point Community Living Center at the age of 97.
She was born on Oct. 21, 1913, in Kentucky to the late Shelton George and Bessie Terrill Anderson. She was a member of First Christian Church & she helped her sister in law, Catherine Anderson, raise two nieces, Sandra Anderson McLemore and Barbara Anderson Mitchell, and a nephew, Bob Anderson.
Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Robinson Funeral Home in West Point.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday Oct. 1, at Robinson Chapel in West Point, with the Rev. Mike Mathena officiating.
Burial will follow in West Point Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Myers, Jonathan Myers, Tyson Privett, Aaron Randall, Carl Shirley, Claude Cartee, Jr.
She is survived by son, Neal A. Myers, Jr., and wife, Mary, of West Point; daughters, Dorothy Jean Myers Paine and husband, Bob, of Kennett, and Patricia Myers Randall and husband, Bruce, of Opelika, Ala.; grandchildren, James A. Myers, and wife, Ginny, Lisa Paine Privett and husband, Keith, Kimberly Jean Paine Lowery, Aaron Randall and wife, Kelly and Candice Randall; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Myers, Janie Myers, Tyson Privett, Kristen Privett Griffith, Whitney Lowery, Tatum Lowery, Joe Randall and Madison Randall.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Neal Myers, Sr. on April 1, 1976 and one son, William Thomas "Bill" Myers.
