As she leaves this world and joins her heavenly Father, our heavy hearts are grieved, but we celebrate her life and the blessings that it meant to so many people. This world is a better place because Lisa was in it.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Ben and Gabe Underwood; mother, Dorothy Bost and brothers, Donald Ray Bost II, Stephen Bost and their families.
Lisa graduated from Kennett High School in 1978 and earned a bachelor's degree from Freed-Hardeman University in 1982. She obtained her Ph.D. in 2009.
Formerly a resident of Kent Island in Stevensville, Md., Lisa had moved back home to Kennett a year ago. She worked for the Family Counseling Center in Hayti as a drug and alcohol counselor. She was rewarded most by helping clients obtain a GED and rebuild their lives.
Lisa also spent countless hours laboring in love with her volunteer work.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Ray Bost Sr.; paternal grandparents, Al C. Bost and Lydia Bost and maternal grandparents, Curtis and Athalee Sissom.
The viewing will be at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Wednesday, Sept. 14.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 15, at Slicer Street Church of Christ.
A graveside service will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. - John 11:25-26.
