Born Sept. 30, 1923, in Braggadocio, Mo., son of the late Claudy Marshall Gaskins and Lilly Fane Gaskins, he was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, and a member of the Lighthouse Power House Church in Wardell.
He married Jewel Lavern Hollis, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Edna Howell and Lula Hollis Gaskins, and one brother, Harley Gaskins.
Survivors include one daughter, Jeannie Marion Brown, of Kennett; two brothers, Hershel Gaskins, of Kennett and Cleo Gaskins, of Dexter, Mo.; three sisters, Fern Blurton, Marcia Boatwright, of Wardell and Bonnie Privett, of Hayti, Mo.; three grandchildren, Trina Beck, of Rector, Ark., Laura Rogers, of Wilmington, N.C., and Dana Moore, of Rolla, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Chris Rogers, of California, Keith Rogers, of Rector and Abigail Rogers, of Wilmington, and two great-great-grandchildren, Warren Rogers, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Alyssa Rogers, of Tocoma, Wash.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the Lighthouse Church in Wardell with Bro. Chris Braden officiating.
Brimhall Funeral Home of Wardell was in charge of arrangements.
