John Wesley Kellum, Jr., of White Hall, Ark., son of the late John W. Kellum and Rosa Etta Martin Kellum, was born Oct. 10, 1929, in Portageville, Mo., and departed this life Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, at the age of 81 years.

He was a Church of Christ minister, and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

John married Glenda Sue Smith on Sept. 9, 1961 in Gideon, Mo.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Sue Kellum, of White Hall, Ark.; one son, Danny Kellum and wife, Dr. Arlene Kellum; two daughters, Carolyn Colson and husband, Thomas, and Rhonda Holloway and husband, Dr. Brad Holloway; four grandchildren, Amy Nicole Shipman, Creighton Lloyd Kellum, Campbell Wesley Kellum and Jacob Bradford Holloway, and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 18, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 19, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Spencer Furby officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
