"Pinky" Hughes
Hershell Wayne "Pinky" Hughes, 57, of Clarkton, Mo., passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born May 16, 1954, in Gideon, Mo., son of the late William Hershell Hughes and Mary Louise Powers Hughes, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gideon.

On Jan. 21, 1972, in Clarkton, he married Linda Sue Moody.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Hughes, of Clarkton; one son, Christopher Hughes, of Clarkton; six grandchildren, Katelyn Hughes and Christopher Hughes, Jr., both of Opelika, Ala., Kai Duque, Jermiah Hughes, Joel Hughes and Kaylee-Rae Hughes, all of Clarkton; seven sisters, Shirley Lance, of Marshfield, Mo., Phyllis Hughes and Judy Anderson, both of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Peggy Walker, of Memphis, Tenn., Sandi Pickard, of Gulf Port, Miss., Debbie Scott, of Gideon and Mary Lou Moylan, of Clarkton, and one brother, Dale Taylor, of Swartz Creek, Mich.

He was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Eugene Hughes; one brother, Bob Hughes; one sister, Joann Tuggle and infant twin sisters.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, July 25, at Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden, Mo., with Rev. Jack Allen officiating.
