Wilma Dean Ross, 71, of Piggott, Ark., passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011, at the Piggott Community Hospital.
Born July 7, 1940, in Piggott, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Izalia Rogers Haywood.
She was united in marriage to Gerald Ross on July 9, 1960, and to this union three children were born.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Ross, of Piggott; a son, Jerry Ross and wife, Dana, of Joplin, Mo.; two daughters, Lisa Karnowski and husband, John, of Greenville, Ill., and Laurie McAtee and husband, Bart, of Kennett; three brothers, Roger Haywood, of McDougal, Ark., Paul Haywood, of Corning, Ark., and James Haywood, of Sacramento, Calif.; four sisters, Alma Joyce Anderson, of Little Rock, Ark., Ella Jean Burnett, of Nashville, Tenn., Elaine Smart, of Piggott, Carolyn Galyean, of Piggott; seven grandchildren, Megan Ross, Olivia Ross, Wesley Ross, Lauren Karnowski, Lynzi Karnowski, Sydni McAtee and Handley Grace McAtee.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Boyce Haywood, Hulen Haywood, Waynard Haywood, and Gerald Haywood, and three sisters, Bernadine Haywood, Eda Mae Haywood, and Sue Haywood.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 19, at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Piggott, with Jerry Morgan officiating.
Burial was in the Piggott Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Ross, Steve Haywood, Neil Galyean, Brenda Watson, Paul Haywood, and Wesley Ross.
