Lee Roy Dobbins, Sr., son of the late Henry Presley Dobbins and Fannie Mae Satterfield Dobbins, and Dean Simmons, his mother who raised him since the age of 11, was born June 23, 1934, in Hickoria, Ark., and departed this life on June 13, 2011 at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 21 days.
Lee Roy married Oletta Webb on Dec. 22, 1954.
Survivors include his wife, Oletta Dobbins, of Kennett; mother who raised him, Dean Simmons, of Rector, Ark., and her son, Tommy Simmons and his wife, Sheila, of Greenway, Ark.; one son, Lee Roy "Dickie" Dobbins and his wife, Tena, of Kennett; two grandchildren, Justin Dobbins and wife, Holly, of Neelyville, Mo., and Ashlie Dobbins and fiancÚ, Jared Shaneyfelt, of Kennett; three great-grandchildren, Delayni, Reese and Maddux Dobbins; three brothers, Presley Dobbins, of Michigan, Tom Dobbins, of Clarkton, Mo., and Buck Dobbins, of Corning, Ark., and other relatives and many friends.
Lee Roy was preceded in death by one brother, Cletus Dobbins; a half-brother, Laverne Tisdale; one sister, Agnes Collins, and Bobby Simmons, the son of Dean Simmons.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., Friday, June 17, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at noon, Friday, June 17, at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett with. Bruce McGrew officiating.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers will be John Gamble, Charles Fuller, Jim Blankenship, William Loggins, Thad Loggins, and Jim Arrington.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hubert Snipes, Carlos Sikes, Ben Dubois, and Jaun Martinez.
