Truman T. Pittman, 83, of Malden died Monday, April 11, 2011, Memphis, Tenn. He served in U.S. Army from Sept. 1945 through Feb. 1947, Korean conflict during peace time. He was self employed Welder, had worked at Federal Mogul and was a member of the Sunnyvale Baptist Church in Malden.

Born in Malden on May 24, 1927, he was the son of the late Clarence Wade and Nellie Mae (Redmon) Pittman. On June 28, 1974, in Kennett, he was united in marriage to Janice Elder, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are four daughters, Sharron Kaye Hellums and husband, Jerry, of Jackson, Tenn., Patsy Anne Skeen and husband, J.W., of Mountain Home, Ark., Debra Gail Mays and partner, JoDell Weigelt, of Beloit, Wis., and Cinthia Faye Earnheart and husband, Terry of Malden; one son, Truman (Tuffy) Pittman and wife, Emily; Autumn Taylor Pittman and Andrea Renee Pittman of the home; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three uncles, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Skeen.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 13, at Landess Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, April 14, at the funeral home chapel with the Bro. James Hamlett officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden. Landess Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.
