Born in Formosa, Ark., on September 25, 1923, he was the son of the late Henry Jackson and Julia Johnson Holloway. On Oct. 23, 1943, in Piggott, Ark, he married Eddie Bernell Kirkland, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Rickie Dale and Sinda Holloway of Campbell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Phillip Hankins of Gideon; Donna and Steve Simpson of Clarkton; two brothers, Royal Holloway of Taylor, S.C. and Jimmy Holloway of Mt. Vernon, Mo.; three sisters, Naomi Pendleton of Mt. Vernon, Loetta Stoops of Sparta, Mo., and Joey Redfern of Mt. Vernon; nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Athlee Holloway and one great-great-grandchild, Olivia Lowery.
Visitation was held at the Bradshaw Chapel in Gideon on Friday, April 29, followed immediately by funeral services conducted in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jack Allen and Rev. Earnest Puckett officiating. Burial was in Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton. Bradshaw Funeral Home of Gideon was in charge of arrangements.
