Barry Martin McFarland, 57, passed away at his Hornersville, Mo. home Tuesday, March 15, 2011.
Born Nov. 17, 1953, in Jonesboro, Ark., he was the second child of Benard and Bernice McFarland. He lived his entire life in Hornersville. He was the co-owner of Ford Oil Co. of Hornersville and Kennett, he served on the Delta Fair Board, was a member of the Hornersville Masonic Lodge and was a Democratic Committeeman. He was also an award-winning duck call carver, taking home the Best of Show prize in 1993 and 2005. He was inducted into the Dunklin County Hall of Honor in 2005.
He was survived by his wife, Michele; daughter, Nani; brother, Bill and his wife, Lisa; mother, Bernice, all of Hornersville, and many family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his father, Benard and sister, Jeanetta.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., Thursday, March 17, at McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 18, at the Methodist Church of Hornersville with Rev. Jim Pemberton and Mark Moore officiating.
Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Blytheville, Ark.
Casual dress is encouraged for both.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Missouri or the VNA Hospice of Southeast Missouri.
