Edward Lee Lawrence, 85, of Cave City, Ark., formerly of Malden, died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Ark. He was retired from Reynolds Aluminum and an ordained Minister and attended the New Beginning Full Gospel Tabernacle Church.

Born in Catron on Aug. 9, 1925, he was the son of the late Fred and Hannah Jane (Orr) Lawrence. On Oct. 5, 1945 in Parma, he was united in marriage to Mable Katherine Starnes, who preceded him in death on June 3, 2009.

Also preceding him in death were one son, Ronnie Lawrence; five brothers, Charlie Lawrence, Alvester Lawrence, Chesley Lawrence, Lester "Kizer" Lawrence and Everett Lawrence and three sisters, Delia Ballard, Lucy Wheeler and Lelia Corzine.

Surviving are two sons, James Lawrence and wife, Polly, of Malden and Junior Lawrence and wife, Elaine, of Malden; one daughter, Sharron McCrackin and husband, Gary, of Newark, Ark., eight grandchildren, Rhonda Melton of Newark, Bill Banks of Caruthersville, Ronnie Lawrence of Gallatin, Tenn., Michael Lawrence and Lisa Lawrence, both of Granite City, Ill., Kevin Lawrence of Elk Mont, Ala., and Lee Lawrence and Jesse Lawrence, both of Malden, and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Tuesday, March 8, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services were conducted Wed., March 9, in he funeral home chapel with the Rev. Charlie Kendle officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden. Pallbearers were Junior Lawrence, Jesse Lawrence, Lee Lawrence, Bill Banks, Jimmy Dale Lawrence, Charles Lawrence, Kevin Lawrence and Rick Womack. Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.
