Shirley Y. Chambers, 74, of Malden died Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter. She was a bookkeeper and a member of the First Christian Church in Malden.
Born August 31, 1936, in Acorn Ridge, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Viva Dozier Wilkison. On Nov. 21, 1959, in Malden, she was united in marriage to Bill Chambers, who survives of the home in Malden.
Other survivors include one son, Mike Chambers and wife, Sherry, of Malden; two daughters, Nancy Steward and husband, Matt, of Malden, and Brenda Davidson and husband, Todd, of Malden; seven grandchildren, Amber Chambers, Whitney Chambers, Tori Chambers, Trevor Chambers, Thomas Steward, Christopher Steward and Elizabeth Steward; three great-grandchildren, Braison Jackson, Kannon Brown and Taytum Jones; two brothers, Roger Wilkison of Ellisnore and Dale Wilkison of Bloomfield and six sisters, Marilyn Wilfong of Jacksonville, Fla., Janet Kelley of Dexter, Virginia Potter of Springfield, Mo., Sheila Burton of Dexter, Sharon Marquis of Dexter and Linda Jones of Puxico.
Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 20, at Landess Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services followed immediately in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Jeff Krupinski officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden. Landess Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.
