Ava Lou Davis, daughter of the late Jess Auvenshine and Arizona McKuin Auvenshine, was born Dec. 29, 1926, in Formosa, Ark., and passed away Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 11 days.
On May 19, 1943, she married Anuial Garland Davis, who preceded her in death on Jan. 15, 1984. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Auvenshine; one sister, Emilie Vint; one son-in-law, Troy Case; one daughter-in-law, Eralynn Davis, and two grandsons, Danny McDonald and Garland Davis.
She was a member of Bragg City Baptist Church.
Survivors include seven sons, Dan Davis and wife, Caroline, of Livingston, Texas, Dewey Davis and wife, Betty, of Patascula, Ohio, Duane Davis and wife, Claudia, of Granbury, Texas, Loyd Davis and wife, Shirley, of Brookland, Ark., Wendell Davis and wife, Lou, of Mena, Ark., Jack Davis and wife, Shirley, of Millersville, Mo., and Keith Davis and wife, Trish, of Paragould, Ark.; three daughters, Sally Neel and husband, Bill, of Sikeston, Mo., Gail Case, of Caraway, Ark., and Rhonda Hamlett and husband, Robbie, of Kennett; one niece, Brenda Raney and husband, Donnie, of Myrtle Beach S.C.; 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Thursday, Feb. 10, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 11, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. O.H. Brooks and Pastor Jeff Watson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers are Tony and James Davis, Paul Neel, Jack Davis Jr., Jacob, Chris, Mark and Matthew Davis.
