R.J. Thomas, son of the late Emmett and Minnie Hayes Thomas, was born Sept. 23, 1926, in Silverdale, near Arbyrd, Mo., and passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at St. Francis Park, Assisted living in Kennett, at the age of 84.
On June 21, 1947, in Paragould, Ark., he married Nadine Noel, who preceded him in death on April 20, 2010.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Charles David Thomas; four brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include one son, Mike Thomas and wife, Terry, of Senath, Mo.; two grandchildren, David Harden Thomas, of Lititz, Penn., and Tari Wells and husband, Jordan, of St. Louis, Mo.; one great-grandson, Reid Michael Wells, and other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 10, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 10, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Kevin Sullivan and Ron Dunavin officiating.
Burial will follow in the Senath Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Blake Medley, Sean Medley, Parker Medley, David Thomas, Jordan Wells and Jeff Noel.
Honorary pallbearers are Charles Horner, George Krone, John David Raines, Bill Marshall, Jack Lincoln and Joy Wayne Holmes.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or the Senath Cemetery.
