Paul White Welch "Billy", 88, of Wardell, Mo., passed away Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Mo.
Born Oct. 26, 1922, in Wardell, he was the son of the late Jesse Robert Welch and Eva Lee Owens.
Survivors include one son, Gerald Leon Mayher and wife, Linda, of St. Charles, Mo.; two grandchildren, Janet Lynn and Jonathan Mayher, of St. Charles; one brother, Sonnie Welch, of Wardell; three sisters, Nyna Boone, of Bragg City, Mo., Gwendolyn Skaggs, of St. Charles, and Bonnie Sample, of Kennett; a very dear friend, Linda Asbell, of Wardell, and a host of other relatives and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Eva Welch; one daughter, Paula Ruth Wilson; one granddaughter, Misty Buck; one brother, Doyle Welch; three brothers-in-law, Hurdle Boone, Clifford Skaggs and Junior Sample, and one nephew, Clifford Skaggs, Jr.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 16, at Brimhall Funeral Home Chapel in Wardell with Laddie Owens officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Cliff Collins, Roger Hamlett, Vyron Hamlett, Bobby Boone, Doug Stone and Jeff Nichols.
Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Doss, Harold Shelby, Charles Cecil, Wayne Thacker and Danny Glass.
