Wanda Lee Tomlinson Olds, 90, passed from this life Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at 8:40 a.m., at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.
She was born April 3, 1920, to William E. and Emma Lacy Huddleston Tomlinson near Holcomb, Mo., in Dunklin County.
Wanda and O.T. Olds, Jr., were married Dec. 21, 1963. They made their home on Highway 25 in Holcomb. O.T. preceded her in death on June 19, 2000.
Wanda being a member of the First Baptist Church of Holcomb since her youth, served as organist and pianist for several periods of time. She was employed as a social worker for 42 years with the Division of Family Services in Kennett. Wanda was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 211 of Kennett for 50 years.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; a twin which died shortly after birth, and a brother, W.E. Tomlinson, Jr., who served in World War II for three years as a Merchant Marine and was killed serving in the Korean War. She also lost three half-sisters, Mable Tomlinson Grogan, Lorene Tomlinson, and Agnes Tomlinson Ashby, and two half-brothers, Clyde Tomlinson and Loran Huddleston.
Wanda is survived and greatly missed by her step-children, Thomas and wife, Joyclyn Olds, of Silex, Mo., their son, Timothy, and wife, Sandra Olds, daughters, Heather and Harlee Rose, of Silex, Tami J. Carroll, daughters, Courtney and Moriah, of Spring, Texas, Yvonne Nolte and sons, Justin, Jess and Jake, of Truxton, Mo., James W. and wife, Karen Olds, of Ringgold, Okla., son, Brian, of Piggott, Ark., and his mother, Kay Davis, of Campbell, Mo.
She will be missed by a very special friend and guardian, Sara Haywood, of Holcomb; by nephews, Don Ashley, of Alamagordo, N.M., William and Phyllis Tomlinson, of Williamston, Mich., and Earl Tomlinson, of Sault Ste Marie, Mich. A cousin, Randal and wife, Reva Lacy, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. A step-niece, Judi and husband, Rev. Frank Noyes, of Pekin, Ill., along with a host of other relatives, friends, co-workers and acquaintances.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Tuesday, Jan. 11, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Steven Bricker and Rev. Randy Vaughn officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery near Clarkton, Mo.
Pallbearers are Tim Olds, Justin Nolte, Jess Nolte, Jake Nolte, George Cordette and Terry Olds.
