Ann Cope, 83, of Kennett, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett.
Born Nov. 2, 1927, in Hornersville, Mo., daughter of the late Phillip Edward and Mima Jane Edmonston Schell, she was a bookkeeper for a local bank, and a member of the United Methodist Church in Kennett. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cared deeply for her family. Her constant example and deep devotion and qualities impacted her family forever.
On Nov. 9, 1947, in Paragould, Ark., she married Ralph R. Cope, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one brother, W.R. Schell, and three sisters, Katherine Swindle, Clyde Cook and Frances Schuerman.
Survivors include three daughters, Beth Berkeley and husband, Jim, of Suwanee, Ga., Nancy Gill and husband, Ken, of Ackworth, Iowa, and Martha Layne and husband, Mardon, of Arbyrd, Mo.; one brother, Allan Schell, of Farmington, Mo.; five grandchildren, Brad Gill and wife, Julie, of Huntington Beach, Calif., Gregg Layne and wife, Sarah, of Senath, Mo., Geoff Berkeley and wife, Caley, of Norcross, Ga., Trisha Cooper and husband, David, of Deford, Mich., and Melissa Reisinger and husband, Brett, of Norwalk, Iowa, and seven great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Jodie Layne, Giovanni and Nicolo Gill, Isabella and Alaythia and Ruby Reisinger.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 8, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 8, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Cooper officiating.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett
Pallbearers are Don Tomlinson, Steve Odle, Don Wallace, Tom Jones, Dennis Thomas and Tommy Wilkins.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
