Robert Wilson Trobaugh, 91, of Malden died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Kennett. A World War II veteran of the Merchant Marines, he had worked in the garment industry in St. Louis, owned Betty & Bob Flowers in Granite City, Ill., and operated a fishing lake in Kennett.

Born Dec. 14, 1919, in Kennett, he was the son of William Henry and Nola Ann (Chapman) Trobaugh. On Jan. 3, 1990, in Kennett, he was united in marriage to Nadine Bowman Trobaugh, who survives of the home in Malden.

Also surviving are one son, Kevin Trobaugh of O'Fallon; two daughters, Melanie Farmer and husband, Harold, of Granite City, and Deanna Johnson and husband, Rob, of Jefferson City, Mo.; four grandsons, David McFarland and wife, Leah, of Pocahontis, Ill., Garrick McFarland and wife, Brandy, of Maryville, Ill., Brant McFarland and fiancÚ, Ashley Brummett of Edwardsville, Ill., and Chris Smith and wife, Sherry, of Risco; and six great-grandchildren, Kylie and David McFarland of Pocahontis, Maya and Nora McFarland of Maryville, and Matt and Lauren Smith of Risco.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Rozelle (Wells) Trobaugh; his parents; three sons, Gary Trobaugh, Robert Wells Trobaugh and Jack Cloud; five sisters, May, Zella, Effie Lee, Mammie and Delphie Pauleen; and five brothers, Jim, Rolland, Russel, Tom and Charlie.

Visitation was held Friday, Dec. 17, in the Landess Funeral Chapel at Malden. Funeral services also were held on Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. James Hamlett officiating. Burial was in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Glen Carbon, Ill. Landess Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.
