Jewel M. White, daughter of the late Gus E. McAlister and Alvie Smith White, was born May 14, 1924, in Ripley, Tenn., and departed this life Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 2 days.
Jewel married Lonnie Cleveland White who preceded her in death in 1964.
Survivors include one son, Jerry White, of Turlock, Calif.; one daughter, Deborah White; three grandchildren, Tracy White, Jerry White, Jr., and Billy White; two great-grandchildren, Derrik Goetsch and Devin Goetsch; one niece, Betty Jane Floyd, of Dyersburg, Tenn., and other relatives and many friends.
Jewel was preceded in death by one son, William Douglas White and one brother, W.A. McAlister.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., today, Tuesday, Dec. 21, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Gary Meyers officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Daniel Beaver, Floyd Wallace, Donald Ward, and Tim Ward.
