Erna Lee Christain, 75, of Hornersville, Mo., passed away Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at Northeast Arkansas Baptist Health Care in Jonesboro, Ark.

Born April 5, 1935, in Hornersville, daughter of the late Raymond Lee Springer and Vercie Marie Allen Springer, she was a mail carrier for the US Postal Service, a member of the Dunklin County Genealogical Society and the First Baptist Church in Hornersville.

On Nov. 12, 1954, in Hernando, Miss., she married Lonnie Christain, who preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 2003.

Survivors include two sons, Bruce and Debbie Christain, of Swartz Creek, Mich., and Brett and Sally Christain, of Grand Blanc, Mich.; one sister, Betty L. and Wally Wronka, of College Station, Texas; one uncle, Wayne Springer, of Hornersville; four grandchildren, Tara Christain and Dan Phillips, and Andrea and Jeffrey Iverson, all of Swartz Creek, and Jason Christain and fiancee, Leah and Alison Christain, all of Grand Blanc; one great-grandchild, Brennyr Phillips, of Swartz Creek; a special friend, Diane Young, of Hornersville, and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 17, at the First Baptist Church of Hornersville with Rev. Paul Moore officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Memorials may be made to the Hornersville Baptist Church or the Dunklin County Genealogical Society.
