Ted Meadows Sr., son of the late Roy Edward Meadows and Hazel Ellen Welsch Meadows, was born Jan. 22, 1939, in Cape Girardeau Mo., and departed this life Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at the age of 71 years, 10 months and 21 days.

Ted married Jeanette Sue Barnes on April 1, 1961.

Ted served in the U.S. Army, was a 1959 graduate of Kennett High School, a member of First Baptist Church in Kennett and an ordained deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Meadows, of Kennett; two sons, Gary Ted Meadows, Jr., and wife, Linda, of Ward, Ark., and Kenneth Wayne Meadows and wife, Melody, of Midwest City, Okla.; five grandchildren, Stephen Wayne Meadows, Daniel Mark Meadows, Jessica Diane Meadows, Robert Houston Meadows and Reagan Calley Meadows; four brothers, Bob Meadows, of Mulberry Grove, Ill., Eugene Meadows, of Calvert City, Ky., Wayne Meadows, of Cooter, Mo.; twin brother, Larry Ned Meadows, of St. Ann, Mo.; one sister, Bonnie Hankins, of Gladewater, Texas, and other relatives and many friends.

Ted was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Mark Meadows; one granddaughter, Amber Nicole Meadows and two sisters, Doris Simpson and Mary Ruth Meadows.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 16, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 17, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Jansson officiating and Bill Hook assisting.

Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers are Daren Wagster, Stephen Meadows, Daniel Meadows, Wesley Drope, Roger Montgomery and Robert Meadows.

Ted's Sunday School class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
