Born July 26, 1927, in Water Valley, Miss., son of the late Toby Gozell and Hattie L. Corker Gozell, he was a farmer, in the agriculture business, a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hornersville.
Survivors include four sons, Bufford Skipper and wife, Becky, of Elkhart, Ind., John Mark Gozell and wife, Ruby, of Hornersville, Michael Wayne Gozell and wife, Vicki, of Kennett, and William martin Gozell and wife, Carol, of Blytheville, Ark.; three daughters, Twilla Cheatham and husband, Steve, of Bentonia, Miss., and Cathy Ward and husband, Keivan, and Terry Lynn Gozell, all of Hornersville; one brother, Toby Gozell, Jr., of Kennett; one sister, Mable Goff, of Kennett; special friend, Wilma Curtwright, of Hornersville; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 6, at the First Baptist Church in Hornersville with Revs. Paul Moore and David Powell officiating.
Burial was in the Lulu Cemetery at Senath, Mo.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Seth Skipper, Trey Skipper, Cody Skipper, Beau Skipper, Swayze Cheatham, Trenton Burns, Branden Gozell, Tyler Gozell, Lonnie Ward, Donnie Ward, Jerry Dillon, Danny Dillon and Darrick Carlisle.
Honorary pallbearers were Max Ray Moore, Mark Moore, Marty Moore, Ricky Bibbs and Charles Tinnin.
Bradshaw-Emerson Funeral Home in Hornersville was in charge of arrangements.
