He was born in Senath Mo., to Tevis and Minnie Foster.
Virgil Foster and Hazel Vaughn were married on July 7, 1941 in Bragg City Mo. They celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary this past summer. He was a Revered pastor who started many churches, and held several tent revivals. Virgil was a business man in his youth. He owned Foster and Sons Pest Control in Kennett.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; three brothers; two sisters; his daughter, Joyce; his grandson, Robert, and his great-grandson, Allen.
Virgil is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Hazel Foster of Indio; his son, Duane and wife, Laverne, of Indio; his daughters, Margaret and husband, Holden, of Greenfield, Tenn., Linda and husband, Doug Whitfield, of Mt. View, Ark., Sharon and husband, Ray Ogden, of Mecca, Calif., and Charlotte and husband, T.C. Canterbury, of El Cajon, Calif.; his sons, Tommy Foster, of Indio, and Kenny and wife, Kelly Foster, of Indio. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Leo Foster, of Cherry Valley, Calif., and one sister, Vera Partlow, of Indio.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 10, in the Forest Lawn Mortuary at Indio.
Graveside services was held immediately following the memorial at Coachella Valley Cemetery.
