Martha Zaria Tidwell Bane, of Kennett, daughter of the late Thomas Edgar Bolden and Dixie Baker Bolden, was born March 27, 1923, in DeWitt, Ark., and departed this life Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Mo., at the age of 87 years, 7 months and 26 days.
Martha enjoyed sewing, cooking, shopping and floral design.
She married John O. Tidwell in 1940. He preceded her in death in 1976. She was also preceded in death by one son, David Tidwell; a granddaughter, Whitney Tidwell; five sisters, and one brother.
Survivors include two sons, Norman Tidwell and his wife, Donna, of Memphis, Tenn., and Tom Tidwell and his wife, Teresa, of Caruthersville, Mo.; two daughters, Kaye Robertson and her husband, Don, of Rector, Ark., and Deana Jones and her husband, Don, of Dexter; seven grandchildren, Waynea Finley, Dixie Highfill, Allen Tidwell, Alicia Ringer, John Karnes, Nicholas Tidwell and Clay Richardson; 14 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 24, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 24, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Lee of Caruthersville, and grandson, John Karnes, of Cape Girardeau, Mo. officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers are Lee Gatewood, Mike Faught, Tommy Stewart, Larry Samples, Randy Hughes, Gary Abernathy and Gary Figgins.
