Vada Baker, daughter of the late Earl F. Grills and Alice E. Kiger Grills, was born August 15, 1935 in Fisk, Mo., and departed this life on November 11, 2010 at the age of 75 years, 2 month and 27 days.
Vada married Bill Woods who preceded her in death in 1982. Later she married Lee Baker who preceded her in death in 2004.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Bo Woods; a daughter, Connie Woods; two brothers, Jimmy Grills Sr., and Sylvester Grills; and two sisters, Jo Woods and Clorece Woods.
Survivors include a son, Steve Woods, and his wife, Carolyn, of Kennett, Mo.; one daughter, Debra Smith, and husband, Don, of Bragg City, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Paul Morris, Shannon Lowry, Donna Brown, Christopher Lloyd, Donnie Smith, Amber Brown, Brittany Smith and Tyler Smith; 16 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Don Grills, of Piggott, Ark., Charles Grills, and wife, Teresa, of Fisk, Mo., and Lee Grills, and wife, Betty, of Wauchula, Fla.; a caregiver, Donna Edwards; 11 neices and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, November 14, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Monday at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Reverend Johnny Bogle officiating. Burial will take place at Browns Chapel Cemetery in Broseley, Mo.
