Betty I. Jeffress, daughter of the late Clyde Harold Allen, Sr., and Juanita Mae Nichols Allen, was born Oct. 6, 1921, in Dexter, Mo., and departed this life at her residence in Flippin, Ark., Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at the age of 89.
Mrs. Jeffress was a homemaker, a former resident of Bernie, Mo., and Kennett, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Bernie.
She married Rex L. Jeffress at Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 2005. She was also preceded in death by one son, Joel Glenn Jeffress, and two brothers, Clyde Harold Allen, Jr., and Bobby Jene Allen.
Survivors include one son, Rex L. Jeffress II, of Kennett; two daughters, Cheryl Wilcoxson, of Kennett and Kim Ott, of Flippin; one brother, James Stanford Allen, of Lee-Summitt, Mo.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Friday, Nov. 5, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Andrews officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
