James Clinton "Clint" Matheney, of Gobler, Mo., son of the late James Wilford Matheney and Beatrice Hill Matheney, was born May 10, 1935 in Ridgely, Tenn., and departed this life Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at Dickson, Tenn. at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 20 days.
James married Velma J. Folkes on Nov. 17,1962 in Kennett.
Survivors include his wife, Velma Jean Matheney; four sons, Nathan Douglas Matheney, of Palm Coast, Fla., Brian Keith Matheney, of Ormond Beach, Fla., Warren Clint Matheney, of St. Louis, Mo., and Christopher Wayne Stennett, of Gulf Port, Miss.; three daughters, Clinthea Faith DeVillier, of Gulf Port, Kimberly Dawn Hindmon, of Gobler, and Velisa Jean Norton, of Fenton, Mo.; three sisters, Joyce Ann Duffy, of Shreveport, La., and Judy Kay Matheney and Deborah Matheney, both of St. Louis; 18 grandchildren; six great- grandchildren, and other relatives and many friends.
James was preceded in death by two brothers, Rayford Matheney and Billy Gerald Matheney.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 3, in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett with Pastor Brian Shearer officiating.
McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
