Lela Pulliam, 78 , of Kennett, died Sunday Oct. 17 2010, at her home.

Born Oct. 19, 1931, in Bragg City, Mo. she was married to Lelon Pulliam, Nov, 20, 1948 in Piggot Ar.

Her Father's name was Cas Monroe Palmer, and her mothers name was Bessie White Palmer.

Lela attened Victory Temple Church of God in Christ, Kennett, where she served faithfully as the church secretary and Sunday school teacher under the leadership of the late Elder B.B. Gillespie and Elder Pullen, Sr. She, along with her late husband, was instrumental in the startup of the Victory Temple Food Bank outreach ministry in the early 1980's.

Survivors inculde 2 brothers; James Palmer of Benton Harbor, MI and Joe Palmer of Jonesboro Ar., three sisters; Johnnie Mae Hardy of Chicago, Il., Eartha Bethea of Benton Harbor, Mi., Perlie (Robert) Mister of Kennett. Three sons; Sylvester (Laura Catherine) Pulliam of Forrest City, Ar., Jonathan (Cora) Pulliam of Dyersburg, Tn, and Johnny Howard (Carolyn) Pulliam of Memphis, Tn. Three daughters; Juanita ( Freddie Charles) Howard of Sikeston, Mo., Vernita Moore of Baton Rouge, LA and Linda Armour of Kennett, Mo. She also leaves 27 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.Services wil be held at 12 pm, Saturday, Oct 23, 2010 at Victory Temple COGIC Rev. Supt. Limmie Pulliam, Sr. At Oakridge Cemetery, Kennett, Mo. Visitation is from 10 am Saturday, October 23, 2010 Victory Temple COGIC til service time, at Bradshaw Funeral Home.
