Mr. Ross was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during WWII, and was a well-known farmer in Dunklin County. He and his wife, Dixie were married for 66 years.
He is survived by his wife, Dixie; sons, David Ross and Richard Ross; grandchildren, Paige Joslin, Lee Ross, Matt Ross, and Marc Ross; great-grandchildren, Cecily Ross, Ross Joslin, Emmett Dunn, Tyler Ross, Hanna Joslin, Rachel Ross, Dawson Ross, Owen Ross and Griffin Ross, and sisters, Verna Lee Fee, Flora Ann Huskey and Mary Jo Ellis.
Rayburn was preceded in death by his daughter, Peggy Sue Ross; grandson, Sam Ross; brothers, Harry Ross, Burl Ross and Don Ross, and sisters, Frances Chailland and Marie Medley.
Pallbearers are Ross Joslin, Tim Joslin, Lee Ross, Matt Ross, Marc Ross and Tyler Ross.
Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Baker, Glen Cannon, Tom Chailland, Joe Chandler, Tom Chandler, Tommy Crunk, Emmett Dunn, Cecil Ellis, Mike Faught, Tom Felker, Joey Hamlett, Hayse Hardin, Eules Hively, Bob Holder, Hanna Joslin, Paige Joslin, John Lacy, Cecily Ross, Charles Ross, Dawson Ross, Griffin Ross, Owen Ross, Rachel Ross and Terry Ross.
Rev. Jim Pemberton will be conducting the services with Ricky Ross assisting.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 19, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Services will follow at 2 p.m., in the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
