PEMISCOT COUNTY, Mo. -- The manhunt for a Pemiscot County man continues today, after authorities were unable to locate a 27-year-old man who jumped out of a moving car on Monday evening to evade authorities.

According to Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell, authorities were out throughout the night, canvassing the area between Deering, Braggadocio, and Hayti for Randall Lee Johnson, who is wanted for aggravated assault from Florida; vehicle theft in Mississippi County, Mo.; and is a parole absconder from the Missouri Department of Corrections.

On Tuesday, authorities reported that Johnson went missing after he jumped out of the passenger side of a vehicle during a car chase on Monday night.

At approximately 10 a.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 14, authorities received a report of someone seeing Johnson near Delta C-7 school.

Authorities responded to the scene and began searching for the subject, but came up empty handed.

Johnson's presence in the area caused for authorities to place Delta C-7 school at Deering on lockdown. No incidents were reported at the school and everyone was able to return home safely.

According to Pemiscot County Sheriff Deputy Ryan Holder, Johnson is believed to now be somewhere between Braggadocio and Hayti, and authorities believe he made his way to a house to make a phone call on Tuesday.

Johnson is described as a dark-complected white male with several tattoos, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, and about 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white tank top and dark pajama pants. Authorities said Johnson is believed to be armed and is considered extremely dangerous.

Anyone with information on Johnson's whereabouts are urged to call the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department, at (573) 333-4101.
