Bob R. Sullivan, 74, of Overland Park passed away quietly Thursday, Sept 9, 2010, probably the only quiet thing he did in his life.

He was born Sept 15, 1935 in Hayti, Mo., to Andy and Pearl Sullivan. Bob was the youngest of five children. He lived in St. Louis for many years and it was there, he married Marie Barone in 1953.

Bob was an ironworker for more than 20 years. He went into a car sales business with his son in 1986 and this became his passion. He knew cars well and enjoyed dealing with people. He had a great memory for history, both personal and global. He was a great story teller, a true Irishman blessed with the gift of gab, who never met a stranger. Bob's other life passions were his children and grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, in 2005; son, Bobby Jr., in 1995; mother and father; brother's, Andy and Eugene and sister Billie.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Seth Dubinick, of Louisburg, Kan.; grandsons Dave, Christian, Dakota and Chance; granddaughter Ali Marie. He is also survived by granddaughters, Katie and Elizabeth, and seven great grandchildren all of Illinois; sister, Ruth Maxfield, of Michigan, and numerous cousins and friends.

A graveside memorial service, celebrating Bob's life, will be held at St. John Cemetery, 89th & Pflumm in Lenexa, Kan., on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Please come and share a story about Bob.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Luke's Hospice; 3100 Broadway; #300, Kansas City, MO 64111.
