KHS tennis player Alexandra Brown sends the ball back to her opponent's side turning the Lady Indians' season opener at home yesterday against Charleston.
Brown won her #1 singles match against Charleston's Madeline Burke to help the Indians secure their first team victory of the season.
Despite losing two of the three doubles matches to Charleston, the Indians held strong in their singles' matches, take five out of six, to seal their first team victory of the season.
Kennett head coach Janet Hilburn praised her team for putting out strong performance against Charleston and liked the fact that they came out playing well in their first match of the season. "I thought we had a good day out on the courts," Hilburn said. "It's good to win the first match of the season because we can now relax and focus on winning more throughout the rest of the season. Overall, I was pleased with the girls' effort that they put out today and thought they all played really well."
Kennett's Brianna Burcham prepares to serve the ball to her opponent during singles' play against the Charleston Bluejays in the Lady Indians' season-opening victory yesterday at Kennett High School.
