Michael Stephen Weatherly, 56, of Kennett, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born Aug. 22, 1953, in Albuquerque, N.M., to Doke and Wanda Weatherly, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kennett, a 1971 graduate of Kennett High School, and a 1975 graduate of Southeast Missouri University with a B.S. in Agriculture. He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing and woodworking with his father, and was very active in sports including martial arts in his youth.
Survivors include his parents, Eulish "Doke" and Wanda Weatherly, of Kennett; one son, Stephen Michael Weatherly, of Kennett; two daughters, Amie Weatherly, of Kennett and Lauren McDaniel and husband, Nogi, of Steele, Mo.; one sister, Sharon Rouviere, of Kennett; five grandchildren; two nieces; one great-niece, and a host of other family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 14, at the First Baptist Church in Kennett with Rev. Ed Jansson officiating.
Faith Funeral Service in Manila, Ark., is in charge of arrangements.
