Rosetta E. Wayne, daughter of the late Walter Summers and Janie Summers, was born March 27, 1923 in Kennett, and departed this life Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at the age of 87.
Rosetta married Hershel C. Wayne on June 20, 1942 in Piggott, Ark. Hershel preceded her in death in 1997. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Rowena Sue Huggins in 1992, and four sisters, Mabel Reeves, Pal Welty, Alverta Waltrip and Lucille Summers.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Wayne, of Hot Springs, Ark., and Perry Wayne, of Kennett; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Tucker, of Rockford, Ill.; many nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends.
Rosetta was a member of Ely Baptist Church for 52 years. She lived her life through faith and her love for the Lord. She worked at Grabers and K-Mart for many years. She enjoyed her family, shopping and Friday morning coffee with her friends.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 4, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 5, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Bud Evans officiating.
Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers are Larry Gibson, Larry Gatewood, Dean Taylor, Danny Pigmon, Sherrill Floyd and Lanny Wilson.
Memorials may be made to Ely Baptist Church in Kennett.
