Billy Gene Maddox, 79, of Jackson died Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Monticello House in Jackson. He owned and operated the Clarkton Tomato House, retiring from the business in 1992. In 2007, he and wife moved to Jackson.
Born Nov. 24, 1930, in Piggott, Ark., he was the son of the late Noah and Carrie Bell (Mikel) Maddox. On July 24, 1954, in Holly Springs, Miss., he was united in marriage to the former Mary Katheryn Scribner, who survives of the home in Jackson.
Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Mark E. and Sandra Maddox of Covington, Tenn.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Glenn Boone of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Lisa and BJ McArthur of Jackson; seven grandchildren, Diana Bryan and husband, Nick, Holly Maddox and Natalie Maddox, all of Covington, Whitney Montgomery and husband, Nathan, of Bentonville, Ark., Kailee Boone of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Brandon and Brittany McArthur, both of Jackson; two sisters, Jo Ann Marler and Bonnie Campbell, both of Clarkton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Maddox (infant) and Wayne Maddox.
Graveside services were conducted on Tuesday, Aug. 3, in Woodlawn Cemetery at Campbell with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating. Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.
