On July 24, 2010, at 12:30 p.m., our loved one Frank O. "Sarge" Davis, Jr., went home to suffer no more. He was known by so many names, Sarge, Junior, Daddy and Papa. He fought a hard fight, yet the man whose heart was so big, finally gave it up. Frank was born to Frank O. Davis, Sr., and Mary Harriet Hoffman on Jan. 27, 1931, in Coweta, Okla. His family moved to Northern Missouri when he was just two years old. On April 14, 1951, in Independence, Mo., Frank married Mabel Bowling.

He is survived by the love of his life Mabel Davis of the home.

One son, Neal Davis and his wife, Sharon, of Jonesboro, Ark.; their children, Brandon Davis and Shari Palmer and her son, Will, all of Jonesboro, Ark.; two daughters, Debbie Harmon, of Kennett; his grandchildren, LeeAnn Harmon, Mindy Harmon and Laura Harmon; his great-grandchildren, Joshua Harmon, Zachary Harmon, Jayden Tillmon and Jetta Tillmon, all of Kennett, Mrs. Gail Penix and his granddaughter, Amy Davis, both of Hornersville, Mo.; four brothers, Clyde Davis, of Odessa, Mo., James Davis and wife, Maxine, of California, Mo., Roger Davis and wife, Barbara, of Sibley, Mo., and Robert Davis and wife, Carol, of Sibley, Mo., and his favorite niece, Betty Forkner, along with several other nieces, nephews and many loving friends.

Frank was preceded in death by a son, Mark Davis; one brother, Charlie Davis, and his wife Roberta; two sisters, Irene Norris and Leotta Davis, two son-in-laws, C.L. Harmon and Bobby Joe Penix, and a sister-in-law, Millie Davis.

His life's portrait was of so many colors. He was a retired United States Air Force Master Sergeant having served 21 years at many Air Force bases, then retiring after serving his country. He was Master Crew Chief of the Memphis Belle II, drove big rigs for Baker produce of Paragould. He was also with Bibb's produce for 36 years. Work was his pastime. He loved being busy. He was of Baptist faith. Mr. Davis passed away July 24, 2010 at St. Bernard Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett with services being held at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 29, 2010, at Trinity Community Church in Cardwell, Mo., with Rev. Harlan Forkner officiating.

Pallbearers are Monte Winkle, Marty Moore, Rick Bibbs, James Nichols, Jimmie Lee, Joe Mel Hinesly, Ted Rouse and Tom O'Neal.

Burial will be in Horner Cemetery at Hornersville, Mo.
