Ralph Bennett Rushing, 76, of Malden died Monday, July 12, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea, was a member of Masonic Lodge #12 in Calidonia, Mo., and attended the Assembly of God in Malden.

Born in Leechville, Ark., on July 30, 1933, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Nellie (Duff) Rushing. On Jan. 3, 1961, he was united in marriage to the former Anita Jeanette Scott in St. Louis and she survives of the home in Malden.

Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Alicia Rushing of Rogers, Ark., and Robert and Melissa Rushing of Indianapolis, Ind.; one daughter and son-in-law, Anita and John Johnson of Malden; two half-sisters, Bernice Hamm of Eolia, Mo., and Burnita Johnson of Portage Des Sioux, Mo.; and seven grandchildren, Cody, Seth, Ben, Emily and Abigail Rushing, and Sydney and Adam Johnson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Rushing and Robert Rushing.

Visitation with Masonic services was held Wednesday, July 14 at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 15, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Earnest Puckett officiating. Burial with military rites was in the Rosewood Cemetery at Malden. Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.,
