Ida Velera Carr, 86, of Kennett, formerly of Piggott, Ark., passed away at National HealthCare in Kennett on Sunday, July 4, 2010.
She was born on June 28, 1924 in Greenway, Ark., to the late Joseph Hightower and Ida Dixie Moore Crowson.
She was united in marriage to Ray Carr on December 19, 1947.
Velera served the Lord as a member of the Calls Chapel General Baptist Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald Ray Crowson, Fuson Crowson, Dallas Crowson and Howard Crowson; three sisters, Iramae Garner, Erma Smart, and Faye Goodman.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ray Carr, of Kennett; one daughter, Charray Rogers and husband Gaylon, of Blytheville, Ark.; one son, Brent Carr, and wife, Brenda, of Kennett; five grandchildren, Brittney Mills, and husband, Rickey, of Benton, Ark.; Hannah Rogers, of Blytheville, Ark.; Mackenzie, B.J. and Blake Carr, of Kennett; great grandson, Cooper Mills; one sister, Marguerite Smart and husband W.F., of Piggott, Ark. and one brother, Ray Crowson, Greenway, Ark.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time, Tuesday, July 6, 2010.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Rev. James Dortch officiating. Burial will be in the Piggott Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be immediate family.
