Aubrey "Pete" James, 80, of Greenwood, Ark., died Monday, June 28, 2010, in a local nursing home.
He was born on Sept. 16, 1929, in Braggadocio, Mo., to Russell and Julia James. He was retired from ABF, a member of First Baptist Church of Greenwood and a member of the Meno Sunday School Class. He was a charter member of Greenwood Roundup Club and a charter member of Sebastian County Mounted Patrol.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Washburn Cemetery in the Washburn Community.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Meno Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Greenwood.
Survivors include his wife Frieda, of the home; two daughters, Debbie Day and her husband Mike, of Hackett, Ark., and Donna James of Barling, Ark.; three sons, Michael James and his wife Becky, Pete James and his wife Kim and Terry James, all of Greenwood; one sister Ruth Dempsy, of Kennett; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Ark., from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.,Tuesday, June 29.
