Joseph Archie Corlew, 72, of Elkton, Ky., formerly of Malden, died Friday, May 14, 2010, at the VA Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. He was a veteran of the U.S Navy, and entertained under the name of Skid-Row-Joe and Joe Silver. He was affiliated with the First General Baptist Church in Malden.

Born in Parma on July 19, 1937, he was the son of the late Rutherford Ancil and Syble Delorse (Ramsey) Corlew. On Dec. 24, 1958, in Bernie, he married Lois Pope, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Lorie and Gregg Hicks of Cottontown, Tenn., and Lissa "Reece" Corlew of Clarkton; one brother, James R. Corlew of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five sisters, Joyce Hughes of Malden, Linda Stevens of St. Louis, Bonnie Winberry of Malden, Pat Aaron of Malden and Pam Corlew of Vandalia; and two grandchildren, Melissa Dawn Morrell of Galveston, Texas, and Randy Kent Simpson of Inglewood, Colo.

Visitation was held Monday, May 17, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 18, at the First General Baptist Church in Malden with the Rev. Jonathan Rice officiating. Interment with Military Rites was in Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield. Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.
