Naomi Laverne Bishop Stanley, daughter of the late John Henry and Josie Holcomb Harrod, was born Sept. 13, 1917, in Cardwell, Mo., and passed away Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett, at the age of 92.
In 1935, she married James Bishop in Cardwell, who preceded her in death in 1989. She later married Rev. A.E. Stanley on Nov. 13, 1993, in Cardwell.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. A.E. Stanley, of Cardwell; three sons, Jim Bishop, of Kalamazoo, Mich., Joe Bishop and wife, Nancy, of Jackson, Mo., and John Bishop and wife, Theresa, of Aurora, Ill.; two daughters, Wanda Cisco and husband, Ernest, of Galesburg, Ill., and Nancy Armstrong and husband, Houston, of Kennett; one sister, Neva Meredith, of Kennett; 25 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Cassie Pierce; three brothers, Dee Harrod, Joe Harrod, and John Harrod, and a granddaughter, Becky Seyer.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Tuesday, May 18, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath, Mo., with Rev. Taylor Wells officiating.
Burial was in the Cardwell Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jeff Bishop, James Bishop, Jess Stanley, Michael Sessums, Steve Cisco, Steven Pierce, Jeremy Cisco, Ben Bishop, and Jerry Bishop.
