Harold William Speidel, son of the late Dr. Roy Edward and Helen Fisher Speidel, was born Feb. 22, 1919, in Senath, Mo., and passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett, at the age of 91.
On Aug. 4, 1940, he married Edith Nadine McGrew, who preceded him in death on May 19, 1993. He was also preceded in death by one son, David Michael Speidel, and two sisters, Patricia Duncan and Dorothy French.
Survivors include four sons, Harold Kenneth Speidel and wife, Mary V., of Decatur, Ala., Randolph Keith Speidel and wife, Sharon Kay, of Llano, Texas, James Edward Speidel and wife, Mary, of West Memphis, Ark., and Ron Lynn Speidel, of Caruthersville, Mo.; six grandchildren, Lt. Col. Kenneth Scott Speidel, Kevin William Speidel, Emily Mayhew, Lori Pope, Jennifer Baker and Steven Speidel; three great-grandchildren, Kaylee Pope, Caden Pope and Myah Mayhew, and other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Thursday, May 6, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, May 7, at First United Methodist Church in Senath with Rev. Bob McNabb officiating.
Burial will follow in the Senath Cemetery.
Pallbearers are John Baker, Steven Speidel, Joel Ingram, David Harris, Gerald Gentry and Tommy Joe Chandler.
