Helen Elizabeth Schoemehl, 61, of Lake St. Louis, Mo., died Friday, April 23, 2010, at deGreeff Hospice House in St. Louis.
She was a high school English teacher and a member of the Presbyterian Church in Malden.
Born in Salzburg, Austria, on Sept.. 3, 1948, she was the daughter of late Robert Earl and Betty Ann (Kaiser) Arnold. On May 29, 1977, in Kissimmee, Fla., she was united in marriage to Thomas Schoemehl, who survives of the home in Lake St. Louis.
Also surviving are one son, Ryan Rascher and wife, Heather, of Dexter; two stepsons, Thomas Schoemehl and wife, Amy, of Malden and John Schoemehl of Columbia, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Sarah Schoemehl and husband, Ben, of Dexter; six grandchildren, Lauren Rascher and Sawyer Rascher, both of Dexter, Parker McCormick, Case McCormick and Piper Schoemehl, all of Malden, and Jonas Shoemaker of Dexter, one brother, Nick Arnold of Copenhagen, Denmark; and one sister, Sarah Arnold of Seattle, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Bob Arnold.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Thursday, April 29, at Landess Funeral Home in Malden. A memorial service will follow immediately in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Phil Warren officiating. Interment will be in Park Cemetery at Malden. Landess Funeral Home of Malden is in charge of arrangements.
