Dorothy Fern Elliott, daughter of the late Benjamin Wilbert Elliott and Viola Mae Harsh Elliott, was born Sept. 5, 1922, in Rolla, Mo. She was the oldest of 11 children. She passed away Friday, April 23, 2010, in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 87 years, 7 months, and 18 days.

Dorothy worked for many years in retail sales at Jenkin's 5 & 10, Graber's Department Store, Hamra's Department Store and Smith's Store for Women. She was a lifelong member of the First Assembly of God Church serving as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was an active member of Kennett Business and Professional Women's Club. Dorothy loved to travel and keep-up her Memories Books. She spent her last years in Heritage Nursing Center and made several friends there.

Survivors include three brothers, Paul Elliott, of Whitewater, Mo., David Elliott and wife, Wanda, of Stilwell, Okla., and Frank Elliott and wife, Lavonna, of Scott City, Mo.; two sisters, Imogene Wold and husband, Tom, of Orland Park, Ill., and Mary Evans and husband, Wayne, of High Ridge, Mo., and other relatives and many friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey and Herman Dale Elliott; a sister, Betty Dinkle, and two infant sisters, Anna Bell and Margaret Helen Elliott.

Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, April 25, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, April 26, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Davis officiating.

Burial was held in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Frankie Campbell, Jimmy Blankenship, Larry Webb, Ron Collier, Mike Bibbs and Michael Bibbs.
