Rev. Winston E. Vaughn entered into rest Monday, April 12, 2010, at age 85. He was the beloved husband of 58 years to the late Margaret L. Vaughn (Wiseman); dear stepfather of Robert (Nada) Carman, James D. (Judy) Carman and Connie (Robert) Freund; dear grandfather of Jason, Jamie, Jimmy and the late Justin Carman, Dawn Dowdy, Rochelle and Charles Rosenkoetter; and dear great-grandfather of Chad, Justin, Amanda, Jessica, Michela, Austin and Alisa.

He also was the dear brother of Marcelle Zimmerman, Eunice Colvin, Reba Meyers, Travis Vaughn, Carlos Sanders, and the late Thelmer, Auborn, Ogle and Ruth; and dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many.

He served as a belly gunner in the Army Air Force during World War II and was a captured internee in Switzerland. Later, Rev. Vaughn was an Assembly of God minister at many churches in St. Louis and Southern Missouri and Illinois. He was a native of Southeast Missouri, had been a manager of a lumber company and active in the city government of Malden. He had also been a payroll manager at Barnes Hospital for 19 years.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, April 14, at Hutchens Mortuary, 675 Graham Road, Florissant. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 15. Interment with military honors will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden at 3 p.m. Thursday. Hutchens Mortuary of Florissant is in charge of arrangements.
