Patricia 'Patti' Lee Mays

Patricia "Patti" Lee Mays, 76, of Gallaway, Tenn., formerly of Malden, died Friday, March 26, 2010, at Gallaway (Tenn.) Healthcare.

A native of New York, she was born in Geneva, N.Y., on July 25, 1933, to the late Donald and Sara Dubbs. She was married to William S. Mays on Dec. 26, 1951, and moved to Martinsville, Va., and later moved to Malden in 1968. Her husband preceded her in death in 1997.

Patti retired from the Malden Community Bank after several years of service. She was a member of the Malden Historical Society and the Malden Country Club. She attended Malden United Methodist Church and served as their church secretary in the 1980's.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael Mays, and one sister, Nancy Welch.

Survivors include two sons, William S. Mays, Jr., of Arlington, Tenn., and Edward Martin Mays of Slade, Tenn.; one brother, David Dubbs of Port Byron, N.Y.; two grandsons, Edward Mays of Byhalia, Miss., and Neil James Mays of Barlett, Tenn.; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were conducted on Wednesday, March 31, at Rosewood Cemetery in Malden with the Rev. Greg Dowler officiating. Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.

The family suggests memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Mid-South Chapter, 326 Ellsworth, Memphis, TN 38111.
