Betty Jean Rogers died March 26, 2010, at her home in Lilbourn at the age of 70 years.
She was born Feb. 25, 1940, in Malden to the late Herman and Ethel (Hause) Rogers.
She lived in Lilbourn 33 years and, with her husband, was owner/operator of Rogers Grocery in New Madrid for 48 years. She was a member of New Life Ministry in New Madrid.
On March 9, 1962, in Malden she was married to Vernon Rogers, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include one sister, Charline and George Bryant of Dexter; one brother-in-law, Henry and Gladys Rogers of Malden; three nieces, Diane Rogers of Malden, Kristi Johnson of Dexter and Amanda Baker of Ellsinore; two nephews, Jerry Baker of Ellsinore and Michael Bryant of Dexter; special caregivers, Martha and Gary Higgins; and a special friend, Louise Simmons.
Visitation was held Monday, March 29, at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid. Funeral services followed immediately in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Scott Sutton officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid. Richards Funeral Home of New Madrid was in charge of arrangements.
